IMPORT-RELATED SERVICES
Michigan
Trade can provide full support to all phases of importing into
Brazil or exporting to Brazil, acting as the importer of record
or as consignee in the "FUNDAP" operations. It is part
of our work to assist the client in the following areas:
1.
Assisting a Brazilian Company in Registering as an Importer
If you plan to set up a Brazilian company to import into Brazil,
we can assist you to:
Preparation of governmental documents
Submitting the documents to the different government agencies
Follow-up of the process
If you have a Brazilian customer that you intend to be exporting
to Brazil to, we can provide these same services to your Brazilian
importer; or act as their importer
2.
Electronic Processing of Import Documents
LI (Import License)
DI (Import Declaration)
Analysis of the pro-forma invoice, determining the proper import
tariff classification, preparing the "LI/DI", electronic
submission of documents to the computerized Customs system: SISCOMEX.
Accompanying the process and submitting additional information
as required by Customs.

Purchase of Goods
Michigan Trade can negotiate the merchandise to be imported, if
so needed.
4.
International Freight
Michigan Trade can obtain quotes, negotiate and coordinate the
freight service for our custmers. Considering the schedules to
be met, Michigan Trade will adjust the timing to the best transportation
available and will contact the international transportation agents
in order to present quotations, reserve space, consolidate cargo
and adjust voyage routes.
5.
Insurance
At the customer's option, Michigan Trade can obtain quote, negotiate,
coordinate and study the best insurance condition for the goods,
considering security and cost reduction.
6.
Shipment and Government Requirements
Taking into account the schedule desired by the customer and the
approval of the importation by the authorities, Michigan Trade
will coordinate the shipment of the material and will follow-up
its journey until arrival in Brazil. The customer will receive
support in the preparation of the import and resale documents.
At the conclusion of the transaction the customer will receive
a report detailing the expenses at the different stages of the
operation: Import License (LI), Import Declaration (DI), sales
invoice, taxes and duties, entry invoice.
7.
Logistic Simulation
We help our customers to establish their own schedules and we
check each and every stage involved, including obtainment of quotes
from suppliers when needed.
8.
Import Estimation Sheet (including schedules and costs)
Whenever desired, we can assist our customers in the calculation
of their sales price, the profit margin, and we can identify every
cost in the importation process. We plan the payment of Custom
expenses and we help the customer to find a better way to import
the product.
9.
Customs Clearance
At the outset of each operation, a cost estimate will be prepared
and presented to the customer. Michigan Trade will handle Customs
clearance, taxes and fee payments, the physical inspection of
the goods and inland transportation from port to final destination.
10.
Storage, Bonded Warehousing
Michigan Trade has a special arrangement with one of the newest
and best equipped Bonded Warehouses in Brazil. Operating under
the new regime of Estação Aduaneira De Interior,
or EADI for short, you can keep your imported goods in bond (or
out of bond) until you are ready to ship to your customer(s).
During bond storage your goods are free of duties and taxes.
11.
Internal Logistics and Delivery
Michigan Trade will coordinate the transportation of their material
from the clearing point (port or airport) to final delivery at
the site indicated by the customer, including storage, contracting
freight and monitoring the transportation. When the customer prefers
not to receive all the goods at once, Michigan Trade can store
the balance and schedule the delivery as requested by the customer.
12.
Up to date Reports
During the importation process, Michigan Trade will send regular
reports on the status of each phase as well as presenting information
prior to the next phase, as per the original schedule.
IMPORT-RELATED SERVICES
We will maintain our customers updated regarding legislation involving
its products.
We will request advance agreement or special authorizations from
government entities as is required.
We will provide free access to apply for benefits to the Tariff
Technical Department, which is responsible for the analysis and
approval of reductions or waivers in the rulings of import tariffs.
